In Dan's den, there is a photo of Daisaku and Kaneko Ikeda alongside other photos. 

Dan's two little girls got it into their heads that Daisaku and Kaneko Ikeda were their Grandpa and Grandma. Dan tried to tell them who the Ikedas were, but they had their minds made up.

"We know who they are!" they told him, giggling.

They both read the World Tribune and Living Buddhism, because sometimes stories of their "grandparents" were in them.

When Dan met the girls' elementary school teacher, she said: "Your children have remarkable grandparents."
