Shortly before receiving the Gohonzon from the SGI, I received in the mail a final warning from the temple not to join the SGI. I needed to practice to a Nikken-transcribed Gohonzon, it said, in order to practice correctly. It went on to say, “Your faith alone is not enough.” Perfect timing, as I had just read the Gosho “The Strategy of the Lotus Sutra,” where the Daishonin writes, “Faith alone is what really matters” (The Major Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol. 1, p. 246). The literature I received from the temple clearly contradicted the Gosho. How could this not be obvious to the temple members?

I received an email from a Nichiren Shoshu Temple member in regard to my shakubuku efforts. I want to share it with all of you:

“You as an sgi member are NOT a true follower of the Daishonin, very very far from it. The reason is.. you are in an organization that has changed the orthodoxy of Nichiren Shoshu (True Buddhism) to the fitting and likeing of the common mortal mind of Mr Ikeda. Not only does the present day sgi not follow correctly the heritage of the law (of each High Priest..) but the common public, media and basic know... sgi is a CULT, because of their behavior, The track record of sgi is too long to list... the evil doings, slander and mistreatment, threats, hits etc. to many. YOU obviously DONT KNOW, otherwise you would be chanting correctly with the Temple.  Perhaps you will get away from the brainwashing of sgi and "his" proganda machine and give an honest look at the temple...go chant there. If you are fortunate enough, you could see and feel the purity and peace that comes upon you with the gohonzon there. We all know this and feel it being in Nichiren Shoshu. Not to mention what Tozan is like. Thats because our faith and practice IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DAISHONINS BUDDHISM.  Its very peaceful. The Dai Gohonzon is the center of our faith.  unlike Mr Ikeda, the common mortal, as the center of sgi's faith. Be warned, the type of karma you are creating is very big. Your life condition will surely fall into the the state of "hell" in the near future. I'm 101% sure.”

“There is too much to say, all i can say is.. To be happy(and i mean TRUELY happy) leave sgi and practice at the temple, feel the very very big difference, i guarantee it.  Its a pity, you are deluded by your karma, what you think of ‘good’ is blurry, say what you will. There is only one way and one heritage and one true buddhism.”

“I won't waist my time. The proof is in NST. Tina Turner is deluded by her karma too.”

“You may get what you want but its so decieveing because it could be from the good causes you made in the past.... not the causes you are making now in sgi. The causes you are making now in sgi are horrific.  Yes, your honzon is fake and you are worshiping devils. Its the most slanderous thing i'd say on the planet. One day............ you will hit the wall, and be in pain and misery for a long time for all the causes you made supporting the devil and his efforts to destroy True Buddhism and cause confusion  (which is what Ikeda does).”

“I know the truth about him from people that have witnessed him and his behavior. I KNOW. you apparently dont. (a pity)”

“You'll pay the price.”

“Its all cause and effect.  You cant connect the the Dai Gohonzon at all with sgi.”
